Tech Volleyball to Open With NAIA Top-ranked Team

Sophomore #13 Beth Fuller is going to be looked upon for offense this year for Oregon Tech.

The Oregon Tech volleyball team will see where they stand early in the 2008 season, as the Owls will tangle with the No. 1 ranked NAIA team in the country, Fresno Pacific University.

Fresno Pacific tops the preseason NAIA Volleyball Ratings and enters the 2008 campaign as reigning national champions. The Sunbirds return the 2007 NAIA Player of the Year, along with 10 other heading into the SOU Classic.  Oregon Tech received votes (16) in today’s NAIA preseason poll and will look for an early season upset over the NAIA's top-ranked team.

Oregon Tech and Fresno Pacific start off the Raider Classic with a match set for noon on Friday August 22nd and will conclude the tournament with Simpson University of Redding, CA. the same evening at 5:00pm.

Three of the four teams in the Raider Classic finished with over 20 wins, including Oregon Tech’s 23-13 finish and a trip to the NAIA Region I tournament in 2007.

Oregon Tech’s first home match of the 2008 season will see Eastern Oregon University and Cascade Conference favorite College of Idaho visiting Klamath Falls on September 5th and 6th with game times set to begin at 7:00pm.

 

Oregon Tech men's soccer to open inaugral season at Northwest this weekend.

The Oregon Tech men’s soccer team will kick off its inaugural year with a total of 18 games starting with a match up against Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington on Saturday, August 23, 2008. The Hustlin’ Owls will host Menlo College at 6:00pm in its first of 8 home games scheduled for Steen Sports Park on Saturday, August 30th.

The Oregon Tech women’s soccer squad will also start on the road at Northwest University on August 23, 2008.  The Hooters will play their first of 9 home games slated against Menlo College under the lights at 8:00pm also on August 30th at Steen Sports Park.

In cross country, the Owls will start on the road on September 6, 2008, at the Humboldt Invitational in Eureka, California. Coach Ken Coffman and his men’s and women’s teams will host the Oregon Tech Invitational on October 11, 2008 at Steen Sports Park.
